Attraction Marketing - What It Is And What It Is Not

In the quest for a small slice of the internet marketing
cash pie, hundreds upon thousands of people have flocked to the world wide web. Each with dreams of raking in enough cash to put in a money bin and swim around like Scrooge McDuck. Many of these internet hopefuls are touting the strategy of attraction marketing to catapult them to these riches when in fact they are coming off as nothing more than pushy used car salesmen. Lets talk a little bit more about what attraction marketing is and what it is not.
Attraction marketing basically boils down to presenting your information or business opportunity in such a way that people who see it are intrigued and usually contact you to find out more info. It is truly magical when done correctly.
Unfortunately, most of the time, marketers litter their message with links to their opportunities, "subtly" talk about how great their companies are and just how much XYZ company has changed their life. Whoa, easy fella! That's not attraction marketing. This is very annoying and even offensive to the intended audience. People are not stupid and no one wants to be sold. NO ONE!
The real "trick" in attraction marketing is that there is no trick at all. There is an old adage from a pretty cool book called the Bible (you may have heard of it) that goes like this: "Give and it shall be given unto you..." The giving I'm referring to has to do with true VALUE. Give people free information or teach them some marketing techniques. The more valuable the info, the more imperative it is to give it away for free. Think about it. If you give away $100 dollars worth of information, the person who gets it is going to think, "gee if they are giving away $100 of info they must have thousands more stored away" or "what a great person." You gain credibility, trust and you come off as an expert who knows the industry. In the end it makes people want to know more about you and, many cases, join you in your business. And in the end you both win which is what it's all about.
