High fructose corn syrup is added to food as a substitute for refined sugar. The problem is that the ingredient is horrible for your body, especially when you see it in very high quantities, which is easy since most foods have it. High fructose corn syrup can wreak havoc on a number of your body's function so do what you can to avoid it.
Cook all your foods from fresh ingredients. This is the only way you have to know exactly what is in your food. When you control what goes into your food you can be certain you aren't getting ingredients you'd rather not have. Even many so-called natural foods include ingredients you'd probably rather pass on. The other side of the equation is that you can make sure you're getting plenty of the foods you'd like to eat and enjoy. Cooking is easy to learn and just gets better with practice. You might surprise yourself by finding that you enjoy cooking in time.
There are quite a few things that you can do to make sure you remain healthy. From eating the right types of foods to consistent exercise and all things in between. Just keeping your stress levels to a minimum, relaxing often and bathing often can go a long way towards making you healthier.
