Getting Rid of Man Boobs - 3 Mistakes To Avoid

With all the information on the internet about getting rid of man boobs, there isn\'t much helpful information to help guys actually get rid of them. I\'ve taken three mistakes that a lot of guys are making, and helped point them in the right direction to reach their goals.

It's unfathomable that in this "information age" and with all the advancements concerning health and wellness, that getting rid of man boobs can be such a seemingly complex subject. Just google "getting rid of man boobs" and you will find stockpiles of useless information that doesn't get you any closer to actually getting rid of man boobs.

So maybe you get a book on dieting, or get a gym membership and start working out. Hopefully you are just doing something that is different from what you were doing before. But the trouble is, you are probably doing something wrong.

Don't worry it's ok. Making mistakes is completely OK, and it is better that you are doing something to get the wheels moving. It's better than doing nothing and giving up completely.

If you are on your path to getting rid of man boobs, I have found three mistakes that most guys make and you should learn to avoid as much as you can. Doing so, in my opinion, will greatly increase the chances that you will have a chest to show off instead of hide.

1.) "Dieting"

The first thing most everybody thinks of when trying to lose weight (or maybe getting rid of man boobs) is that they have to go on a "diet". Sometimes a "diet" means a change in the types of food we eat, but more commonly I have found that people think it means eating less. A whole lot less.

The truth is that if you would like to lose weight and fat that you will have to eat less, but usually it's a lot less than you think. If you are currently eating 2200 calories a day and decide to cut it to 1000, you are setting yourself up for not only failure, but also for possible healthy problems.

The fact is that eating anywhere from 500-1000 calories less than you eat now is probably sufficient for fat and weight loss. There are many other factors here, so don't think that you can just eat 500 less calories, still eat crappy food and that you will suddenly slim down. We're talking about the amount you are eating.

The point is DON'T STARVE YOURSELF. If you want to know how many calories you should eat a day to lose weight, simply google "Basal Metabolic Rate Calculator". Here you will find out exactly how many calories you need to stay at your current weight.

However, if you are anything like me and hate "calorie counting", the simple way to not under-eat is to simply eat every meal or snack to feel comfortably full. Stop eating to fill yourself so you are bursting at the seams and you won't have to count calories.

2.) Going From 0-60mph

Your body is not a high performance car, sorry to tell you. Although the human body is a complex (and completely fascinating) machine, you can not go from zero to sixty miles an hour in the blink of an eye.

Okay, I'll admit, it's kind of silly, but I say that to illustrate a point. Getting rid of man boobs will require a life change from where you are now, but it doesn't have to be done all at once and the changes won't happen overnight.

If your current life consists of a couple hours in front of the TV and little to no exercise, it's hard to expect you to start working out every day for an hour. If you currently use the drive-thru at Mcdonald's as your main source of food, I cannot imagine that you're going to last long on a diet of low carbs or lower sodium. If you want to do so that's great! But it isn't something you want to change overnight.

My biggest piece of advice is start out small and change your goals weekly. Can you work out for just 15 minutes a day, twice a week? Can you do that for a week and then make it 20 minutes, three times a week? Can you cut out or reduce your pop and soda drinking? How about fast food?

These are just some ideas to get you thinking for yourself about what you can possibly change. If you stick with it every week and keep trying to do a little bit more, you might find that in just a month you will see some pretty cool results.

3.) Treadmill-itis

Why is the treadmill one of the most popular machines at most gyms? I don't get it. You hop onto a conveyor belt that basically lets you run in place for an extended period of time. There's no change of scenery, there is no winding trails or paths and of course, it is utterly predictable.

Yet when most people want to lose weight or guys want to start getting rid of man boobs, they decide that they need to spend a lot of time on the treadmill. And guys wonder why they fail?

Look, the treadmill (and running or jogging in general) are great forms of exercise, and I do them all the time, but you must do exercise that YOU ENJOY. I can't emphasize this enough.

There are so many alternatives to the treadmill that it's almost comical. You can go run outside, you can play basketball, soccer, tennis, ping pong, racquetball, baseball, softball and the list goes on and on. Use your brain creatively and do things that you enjoy doing that also include getting you to move around and keep your heart rate up.

If you decide the treadmill is fun and fulfilling and you can continue doing it every single day that's great! The idea here is to do what you like while also working on getting rid of man boobs.

The Point Is...

The whole point of this article is to help you get from where you are now to the place you want to be. I have literally seen hundreds of guys try to improve their bodies in some way shape or form and have found that these three mistakes are pretty common. These are my recommendations but obviously I think the best thing you should be doing is something, anything that involves living a healthier life. Just continue doing something, even it's small, every day and with small corrections here and there as you go, you will be able to lose your man boobs.
